HELLO! It is 2019, my dudes. And I am so excited to be back in the writing groove. Truthfully, I love writing because I get to be in my cozy pajamas, wrapped up in a weighted blanket, and watching Grey’s Anatomy between paragraphs. Ahhh, it’s January [almost February!] and I’ve already published TWO articles. One about my future husband and a personal message to the girls out there feeling stuck. You should SO check them out! Share with ya friends too (a little shameless self-promo, it’s fine) on Pinterest, FB, Twitter, & Instagram.
JESUS = 2019
I have tons of new content prepared for 2019. God whispered in my ear recently to start focusing on Him. And I have in these first three weeks of January. I’m growing in my faith and pursuing a relationship with Him. Laying out everything I struggle with, everything I own, every fear and worry in front of Him and letting him do the work.
“Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight.”2 Corinthians 5: 5-7
From now on, I’m letting God control what I need to write and share on “my little corner of the Internet.” Whether that’s finding advice from Gilmore Girls to share with 20-something girls OR discussing fear and anxiety in post-grad life. I hope to get some great resources on my site that encourage youths to angle their heart towards Jesus. This is something I want to focus on heavily this year, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me and my site. If ya have any recommendations on resources, leave them in the comments below so people can read them! Let’s share the love of Jesus!!! Some resources that are a go-to for me: coffee and bible time, Well Watered Women Co., and the Daily Grace Co. which just launched an app so you should DEFINITELY go check that out!
Laugh more, worry less
Ahhh just one of my many mantras that I’m chanting to myself. I know, crazy right?? But seriously — let’s bring laughter into 2019! Whenever you feel stressed/worried about the future, don’t stay under your covers. Pick yourself up AND DANCE IT OUT. DANCE. Dance to worship music. Seriously — when you feel upset, worried, anxious, left out…worship music. Worship music is always the answer. Also…
…LAUGH. Do something that makes you happy. Do something that makes you laugh so hard you pee a little. Just smile — I promise it will make your day 100x better.
Start looking at life with a smile. If you face a problem at work, school, or in your family or friends, just smile. Take a deep breath. Take a deep breath and just…relax. It will get resolved. That problem will get resolved.
a little story about me: In school, I laughed. A lot. In fact, I laughed so much that my friends started calling my laugh attacks “olivia attacks.” And that really meant a lot to me because I knew even just laughing at a meme or a joke I made up in my head, that my smile, my crazy laugh helped bring a smile to my friends (and strangers in the middle of Kroger). I liked that part of myself and I think that’s something I really need to do more of. What we all need to do more of.
What is our purpose? Honestly, idk what my purpose is. I have an “idea” of what my purpose is, but frankly, no one really knows what their purpose is. Only God knows that. And when we look to our Creator and leave it all to Him, that’s when we start to see our true purpose. Because our true purpose is in Him. He can help us, guide us along our way and not make us stumble. The enemy does that. The enemy, the devil…they make us stumble and even grow comfortable in the life we settled in. But God encourages us to take His hand and follow Him in the great unknown. Wasn’t that in the Greatest Showman?
Not to compare The Greatest Showman to God or anything, but didn’t Charity give up EVERYTHING to follow her husband and gain a life of happiness, even if it meant she was going to be poor? She grew up rich but knew that in order to be with her soulmate, she was to give up all her [parents] wealth, home, and treasures. That’s what I mean with God. You have to give up everything to follow God. He is your soulmate, your purpose. When you start following God, you start to see God’s purpose for you unravel. So take His hand. Start on this journey with him.
It’s a brand new year. God wants you. God has you. You just gotta take His hand and live out His purpose for ya, because girl, it’s GREAT.
pop in the comments below to share one of your resolutions. I want to hear them!
