When I wake up in the morning (read: 11 a.m.) I don’t actually “get up” out of bed. I sit there playing on my phone, scrolling through Twitter and Instagram (flip-flopping between both) and trying to convince myself that a full-time job is actually worth the paycheck. Then I move to Pinterest. I open my good vibes board and slide past the different pins. I pin quotes, movie lyrics, Bible verses, and random thoughts that all share one attribute: motivational. And honestly, they do work. They do get my lazy butt out of bed in the morning (again, 11 a.m.).
Whenever it seems like I’m going to have a rough day, I open up my Pinterest board (basic, I know) and cheer myself up with these affirmations. A happy life!!
“Become the hardest working person you know.”
“A happy soul is the best shield for a cruel world.”
“The best view comes after the hardest climb.”
“Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, then it’s not the end.”
“Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
“Kind words are like honey…sweet to the soul.”
“Always put your hope in God.”
“If we wait until we’re ready, we’ll be waiting for the rest of our lives.”
“I’ve found that there is always some beauty left — in nature, sunshine, freedom in yourself these can all help you.”
-Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl
“She leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes.”
